just been on phone to them for quote of "motor" boat insurance.
lady told me they tend to concentrate on yachts only.
ugh !!!!
do they insure or not ???
i wonder why they dont mention that on their site or was my gut feeling correct. she just couldnt be bothered...
i dont think i will be insuring with them.
good old uk service strikes again.

Really cannot see your problem. There are dozens of "marine" insurers. Not all do all kinds of boats. Accept what she told you and move on - nothing to do with good old UK service at all.

I agree, i think they should state in adverts that they only insure sail boats to save the bother of ringing them in the first place. But then again i wonder do they want everyone to call so that at the end of their finincial year they can calculate how much business they might have turned away and re-access the situation.

Have just stopped using them after a number of years - no complaints about their product or service - both of which were excellent - it's just that they placed certain caveats on their comprehensive cover for our forthcoming voyage down the Red Sea and across the Indian Ocean - no complaints about that and probably a decision based upon sound commercial principles. Horses for courses and all that. We now have cover with another well known company at a slightly greater cost - again, a sound commercial principle.
