Hello. What technique do you use to adjust a board or a curved surface? For example, a shelf on its front edge. Thank you for your feedback.

I use 3mm ply, typically Birch ply, that I used for templating. I cut a strip that is the chord length of curve. Using a glue gun I may add a small square section to make it stiff if required. Then, I cut small strips of ply and snip a point onto them. These strips are glued onto the chord length of ply such that the strip points touch the curve, I use as many strip points as required. Then remove from the area, offer up to the wood, tap in panel pins at each strip point, then either draw the curve, or use another button around the panel pins to create the curve, and draw round that.

An alternative method is to scribe a curve using a flat board along the plane that the shelf will sit. Using a pencil set in a small block of wood, draw the block along the face of the curve such that he pencil scribes a line on the shelf board replicating the curve.

You can buy tools to scribe the curve https://www.screwfix.com/p/tracer-m...PYeRoC33kQAvD_BwE&vdly-play-video=LyEYcTl_gy4
