Do remember if using Evo Stick (or simerlar) that the vapour is both toxic and highly flammable and even if left to 'flash off' outside some vapour is still released during the subsequent days.
Try to do the whole job outside + do just check that it's not too flammable or near anything hot when cured.
In addition ensure that your engine bay temp does not rise appreciably (open it up after running for a while) after sound insulation as most are also very effective thermal insulators.
I have used the 'moveable' sort of evo-stick on the two boats that I have done this job on. Sometimes the heavy sheets need supporting for a while as its 'moveable, but I've found that its better than standard contact adhesive that 'grabs' just when it isn't in exactly the right place...
Try Tik-a-Tak Vinyl and Cork Tile Adhesive from B&Q. I used it to re attach inside lining carpet stuff to my Parker after the foam backing degenerated to a nasty black powder. It's a bit like the old copydex latex and I'd think it would stick almost anything to anything else. Magic stuff!
