Just seen Ade at Sea. This week on the Thames Estuary.

Very entertaining. He did Chatham, Thames Gateway, Red Sands towers, (or the other one), the Blackwater barge race and Maldon,

All familiar places, but nice to see it on telly.

Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

Must have been filmed about a year ago as there are two big berths up and running at the new container port now.A welcome relief from the usual drivel on tv though.

Yes it was was good, felt like a 10 minute programme , as mentioned just touched on various interesting subjects without any depth. Still :encouragement:

Yep
it skips too much, it would have been far more interesting to see those cranes moved from the ship rather than him driving one.
bad editing in the barge match Stangate Hse moved down river at one stage

Saw the cranes being moved ashore on a programme a few months ago. Can't remember which programme it was unless it was the series about cranes. They had to roll the cranes off at high tide when the ship was level with the dock. Only had about an hour to do it in until the tide went down too much leaving the crane half on the dock and half off the ship. As you can see, they managed it. None of the recent programmes about the sea manage to do continuity properly. I guess it is only sailors who notice!

Channel 3 or 4 innit. My gripe is that the editting is to quick my poor old brain barely has the time to absorb the picture before its off onto something else................... is it me??

praps I need a smaller screen telly so that I do not have to scan the big picture:confused:

I noticed that the copyright for the programme was 2013.

I wonder if ITV noticed that their programme clashed with David Dimblebug's sea adventures and held it back?

You wait ages for a programme about the sea and two come along at once!!

As a thought, if the ECF were to make their own documentary about the sea, what would it contain?
