all these clebs following Dylan Winters idea but they all go into the same ports .Producers seem to have no imagination .

Still, more entertaining than soaps and reality TV.

I rather enjoyed it and he came across as genuinely enthusiastic about it all. Good programme, shame it was only a half hour.

I did too, it's the 'half hour' that is the disappointment. The intro that will be shown on every show lasts a couple of minutes, there is a big advert break in the middle and the whole thing ran for little more than 25 minutes. The Griff Rees Jones show on Wales was even worse (in addition to the dreadful content) and ran for only about 23 minutes. So maybe 20 minutes of real info? I never watch programmes on commercial TV live nowadays, record them so I can fast forward through the adverts.

I too enjoyed what little was available and agree that Ade Edmondson seemed to enjoy himself; he does, apparently, keep a boat on the Dart.
I particularly enjoyed the section on Leader having sailed on her many years ago. I took a passage, with a couple of friends, from Oban to Brixham via Ireland and Scilly. The sense of power when the wind picked up was something I will never forget. Trinity are a worthy outfit and run a fairly relaxed regime on board - worth a try.

Also enjoyed the prog but was a bit surprised at the comment that the Eddystone lighthouse was 40 miles out to sea!!!

Have they moved it?

I agree it's great to see anything positively boaty on telly - and it's way, way better than ' Three Men...' - I just can't help thinking the anarchic, funny Ade of my youth seems to have gone a bit flat ?

Suppose electrocuting people, bashing them on the heads with frying pans and firing staples at them doesn't really suit this programme.:D

What a disappointment & wasted opportunity

Yes, have to agree but at least it was something boaty on the box. The commentary sounded just like Tom Cunliffe.

What was wrong with it? It was jolly, it featured real sailors and boatmen, it didn't try to make entertainment out of something that wasn't there.
I also like his Dales programmes and his Cooking programmes.

after the break they went over what had just happened b 4 the break, wasting a good few minutes of air time
