If one is perhaps going to use red Diesel Purchased from Auto fuel pumps (Morrison's) in your boat what is the best additive to add to this with regard to the old fuel bug and for other things that are good for a KAD32. and of course the diesel heater

Any links to the products used would be most helpful.

Can you buy dyed diesel from Morrisons?
Anyway..Marine 16 do fuel treatments...though if you burn the diesel instead of storing it I can't see you need any treatment.

Most shorebased red comes from independant garages normally with agricultural customers nearbye.
Doubt any of the supermarkets are in this market.
A dirty stinky job to transfer usually resulting in you with a bad back ,your car and your boat ponging of diesel for days plus a garage full of smelly 20L drums.
On overnighter at any decent boat club entitles you to red at around 85p per litre direct to your tank with a dose of Grotamar F.O.C.
Might be one near you.

At 23p per ltr saving I am happy to tote it in my vehicle. 40 ltrs = £9.20.

So to the question of what additives people use

I,ve been adding this stuff ( Med based ) 9 years worth with Kad300, past 3/4 years MAN 13 L engines

Mainly due to relative inactivity over the winter closed season .
Never had a bug problem , but it’s a one of one anactdotal study .Not a scientific double blind study .
Never really seen any water either in the Racors - clear bowl recon to centrifugally remove water .

Water In Fuel alarms too , never gone off .

Aside main reason is some antibacterial effect cum stability help over the closed period and some supposed injector pump / tip lubricant anti gum .

It costs peanuts relative to total fuel and engine service spend .

Just feel anything to lean towards keeping the injector tips from malfunctioning ,considering the lack of use in the closed season .

Anti bug additive / fuel Tx tends to polarise views .

So happy to hear from ( politely:) please ) from the “ don,t add nothing “. “snake oil waste of money “ camp .

You must be doing it wrong. Never had any of the problems you mention despite filling from cans for years.

Grotamar 82 a biocide is the mutts nutts.

You also need to be systematic and scrupulous with your fuel.

Check fuel filters carefully, drain any water you can from pre filter and tank etc.And add Grotamar 82 at every fueling in a prevenatative dose.

+1 for Grotamar that's what we're using.

Don't mix treatments however as some work by sticking water particles to hydrocarbon chains in the fuel, effectively dissolving. Others work by forcing the water to separate and the separated water then gets caught in the water separator.
