AD41 thermostat housing with hot water tank

Evening.

I have the two hoses off my thermostat housing that go to my hot water tank. Now what one is the output and what ones the return?

I can't remember ever finding out the answer to that for sure, but it didn't make any difference on mine which way the hoses connected, seemed to work either way. I remember studying the thermostat housing to see if i could work out the answer but could never see how the configuration of the connections could generate flow as they were so close together and it did not seem obvious why one would get more or less pressure than the other.

Its current connected state it dont matter but putting a webasto in line with a circulation pump I need to find the direction of flow.

Interestingly I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to divert some of the engine cooling of my Kelvin T4 into a second coil of a calorifier. Wondering how I find out where to put the flow and return connections.
P.S. Ian, just in case you are following this thread... you mentioned old Cetrek kit in another thread and I sent a private message but no reply. Did you ever do anything with the Cetrek stuff? Ian
