Where is the best place to get oil for AD41 engines and what make is recommended here?

I need to get some as a top up so a gallon will (I hope) be loads....

I use Halford's ordinary mineral diesel oil. No point in buying anything special. Have done over 850 hrs with no problems, and no need for any top ups between annual changes

Ted,s right go to local motor factor, get myself 25 litre drum of 15/40 turbo friendly lube does boats cars etc etc.

Engines of your vintage, don,t need to have "Volvo oil "
Tin from Halfords ok.
As Ted ses!

Agree with above posts.Go to your local motor factor.25L will cost around 30 quid + vat. While you are there get your fuel and oil filters at about 50% discount.
You can also get your other fluids ie hydraulic steering fluid/ram oil etc at a fraction of chandlers prices.

+ vat.

If you buy puka marine oil there isnt VAT on it, but agree that the bulk distribution costs of motorist discount centers outweighs the VAT saving and 'hey, it all goes to a good cause' /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Agree with everything above. I normally use Castrol 10/40, mainly 'cos I can get it at a very advantageous price. My TAMD 41s have now done 1600 hrs and don't use a drop between changes.

As you should know the AD41 flowers only on the highest Northern facing slopes of tibet. As the weather is severe over winter the plants are cultivated during spring in the valleys and moved up the mountains in early June. After flowering the seeds are collected and, like Opium, are crused and the oil extracted.

At least that's what I was expecting Motortech to tell me after I complained about the size of my service bill.

Local motor factors.

Got some standard mineral 15w-30 turbo diesel engine oil locally for £19 + vat for 25 litres!!!

At that price, it doesnt make me cry when i miss the filler and dump loads into the bilge! (Good job morrisons do washing up liquid at £1.25 for 5 litres to soak it all up!)
