AD31 - Seapump

Has any one tried to change the bearing behind the empeller. Is it easy for a basic DIYer? Bloody engine overheated due to it and ruined our Easter!

This thread shows how I renewed the bearings on a KAD42. AD31's have the same pump and use the same repair kit.

However, the pipes arn metal and go into the pump...are they easy to pull out?

Ahh, yes I'd forgotten the AD31's metal pipes. You need to undo the bracket from the pump that held by a couple of the cover screws and you can then ease the incoming pipe down. The out going pipe to the oil cooler (I think) requires the bolt undoing and "U" shaped retainer removing.

Be careful you don't break the plastic retainer (item 12), I recall I did, but they are available from Volspec or Keypart for 2 or 3 quid!
