Is it possible to modify AD31A (130hp) to achieve 150hp as appears to have been the output of the last of the AD31 model? Thanks for any advice.

I have the AD31P's in the 150hp spec, a friend of mine has an identical boat with the 130hp's, as far as I can tell we get the same pretty much the same performance at cruising speeds which is
in the 18-25knt range. Possibly I get a couple more knots topend, reading the specs the difference appears to be just fueling and an increased rev limit from 3700rpm to 4100rpm, so the extra power is not really where you want it in the mid range, the AD31's are a bit slow to pick hence the KAD32's are a better option.
Probably not worth the expense unless you need a new injection pump and injectors anyway.

Thanks Chris, that's useful to know. Engines are performing as well as they ever have but I agree they are a bit slow to pick up especially on first run out of harbour; once fully warm, planing is pretty much immediate. Tom.

im not very mechanicly minded but can you not change parts on these engine in the same manner as a car to improve power? such as uprated air filters, different exhausts, turbos etc? or is that not an option on marine engines?
