Active Captain

I tried using this when I first got a Garmin Echomap but either my phone was too old or I misunderstood the set up process (both probably). I've now got a new phone.
Has anyone successfully completed the link up, and if so, have you found it useful?

I have it linked to my Garmin plotter. Before that I used BlueChart Mobile, very handy for creating routes on an iPad or phone then squirting them into the plotter. Garmin abandoned BlueChart Mobile and stopped it working. Therefore I needed to move to Active Captain, which is a bit clunky but offers similar functionality and looks much the same for the planning part. Setting it up was straight forward but I can’t remember what steps I took as it was some time ago.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping it would do. I think the problem I had previously was getting the WiFi to link up.
I'll disconnect the everything from the boat and have a play at home.

Active captain is so easy to use once you have the phone and plotter linked via Bluetooth(mobile Wi-Fi?). Great for software updates

Yes I have it too, fiddly set up if I remember but once up and running I find it a useful bit of software to update the plotter and to plot routes on.
