I needed new washboards as I got fed up with varnishing the old washboards on Shady.
I contacted Pure plastics "see below" who were just brilliant and a very good price, including bevel edges and cutting in a vent, can thoroughly recommend them.

I found that wash boards are the primary defence against intruders. It is far too easy for scrotes to kick in the wash boards. I had ply but that is what happened. I now have 5mm ali and so far after another 20 odd years still intact. So I would suggest you might consider reinforcing the acrylic although it ma7y be too late. olewill

I would like to see someone kick in my 15mm acrylic washboards - I suspect they will bee stronger than the timber originals - unless you are suggesting that acrylic shatters like glass might do?

We opted for clear acrylic, although our supplier (also excellent but in Scotland and I forget their name) told us that scratches in clear acrylic are much worse than those in tinted - so we treat them very carefully and stow in bags when not in use. The clear acrylic has transformed the saloon area though, and we are very pleased to have stumped up the cash!

Hi Donald, that rings strong bells. I think you are right.

Do you remember that we met in the chandlery at Kip a few years ago??
