Across the great divide.

The great divide being the Mac/IBM one.does anyone know of a free
program that can be used for video conferencing between Mac and IMB computers. I'm currently using msn.messenger and/or Skype to comunicate with my son back in Britian but other members of the family have Macs, so Skype alone is used (for talk only).
Any help gratefully received.

Re: Skype & Siemens

A friend of mine (specialist in the domain) has Siemens telephones in his home linked to Skype. This means you don't need headphones and mikes but can speak anywhere in the home on a normal cordless phone though Skype. Just like free phoning.

According to him Siemens are the only ones capable of doing this at present.

Re: Skype & Siemens

I have heard of this too. I think it is a WiFi enabled phone which acts as a headset on your PC. Skype also adverise one from These Guys which connects USB to your PC.

" Trillian is a fully featured, stand-alone, skinnable chat client that supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC"

Great! So what does all that mean? What is skinnable?

Re: Across the great divide.

It runs on both Mac and IBM and can be used by anyone with accounts / IDs with Yahoo, MSN, ICQ or AIM.

These are all Peer 2 Peer chat and now video conferencing providers.
