Accumulator problem

Hi,

We have a new water system with a new shurflo pump. The pressure from some taps wasn't great so we added a 5l accumulator which solved the problem. It's a small system with shower, bathroom taps and kitchen taps. This worked fine for a few weeks then this week the pump took a while to prime and made awful noises so we assumed the water was low.
We have since filled up and now something is not working properly. The pump is going randomly without running any taps and when we do run the tap the pump starts working straight away as if the accumulator isn't even there. We haven't changed the pressure on the accumulator so any ideas why it might not be working?
It's definitely something with the accumulator as we took it out of the system and the pump worked as it should with no weird noises. There aren't any leaks in the system.

Thank you in advance for any ideas,
Emma
