Access into Dielette harbour

Hi has anybody any knowledge of the access into Dielette harbour, its a few years since I was there but am considering stopping off there on the way from Jersey to Cherbourg
next week weather etc permitting, Easterlies are forecast for next week so Guernsey is out.

In addition to what others will have to say pm Angele as this little port is close to his home waters.
 
We did that trip on our way back from the summer cruise and arrived pretty much on high water so didn't have any access restrictions.

IIRC the outer harbour pontoons are accessible 4 or 5 hours each side of high water (however you will be afloat on them at LW) and the inner marina around 2 to 3 hours each side of HW. When we visited the lights showing if the cill was open or not weren't working but there is a depth gauge visible to starboard of the cill.
 
I was in there last summer and had no problems with depth. We stayed in the outer harbour so that we could leave near low water when the gated cill was closed. (To get the south-going tide IIRC.) A quick look at Reeds suggests about 1.0m in the outer harbour at MLWS and 3.5m at MLWN.

I was there in September 2014, and I have some photos that I can email you Pagetslady if you PM me with an email address.

Access is easy and there is a surprising amount of water in the Commercial harbour even at low water springs.

That was also my experience.
 
I was there last week. Access to outer harbour is fine most states of the tide,the channel is dredged to roughly chart datum. Outer harbour is deep enough for most boats on most tides. Inner harbour has over two metres on visitors pontoons at all times. Tide runs very strongly south to north starting around two hours before high water (Dielette). This means that coming from the south you will either sail against the tide or arrive after high water. They have a good website with all information needed. Try Google "Port de dielette)
 
The waiting pontoons now give access to the quay.
Reeds Nautical Almanac gives a recommended yacht track for entry useful around low water or in lumpy seas. Basically enter southwards midway between E and W breakwaters, don't turn to port towards the commercial pool with the waiting pontoons until the entrance is nearly abeam.

If you are going to the inner harbour do look at the depth gage, from memory I think it turns green well before you can get over the cill.

It turns green as soon as the gate has dropped, at which point there is 1.5m over the cill.
