Can anyone advise me on the correct arctic cable size for the following -it would be nice to buy a 50 mtr reel to do the lot!
a) 1Kw calorifier
b)small fridge
c)possible future microwave
d)battery charger
c) a small ring of 13Amp sockets

Thanks:confused:[

When cabling up for low voltage AC on a small boat then 2.5mm2 will cope with it easily. Arctic cable is the usual stuff though most decent flex will do. P.S. no need for a ring main on the 13a socket circuit, spurs are perfectly good.

Edit to add If using arctic cable for external use i.e. shore power leads then at least buy it to BS 7919 as the usual BS6500 should be de rated at +5 deg. Preferably use HO7 for shore leads, has better abrasion resistance too.

thanks David. Screwfix here I come!

Well at least for the 6500 for interior use you do, they rarely have it in branch though, next day collection or delivery, don't forget some bootlace ferules for crimping onto the conductors when isserting to any screw clamp terminations like 13a sockets, you can get double entry ones for the in / out on the 13a spur, available easily online or from CEF et al
