Went out for a couple of hours today. Big swell as the wind has been in the south for a while, good breeze, I don't do numbers but it was the top end of full sail, superb. Forgot to pick up the spinnaker as I left the house which was a shame as it would have made the downhill leg a little more exciting. Pity I had to head home to go to Ikea!

Ikea?

I went there once about a fortnight ago, never again. It's like being lost in a maze. I've never had a panic attack but I did experience a sudden strong desire to get out of there as soon as possible by whatever route possible.

By the time I got out my breathing had gone all shallow and I was in a cold sweat.

Ugh, never again.

You did still follow the one-way route round the shop though didn't you..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: lakesailor

IKEA is designed for wimmin. These are people who go "shopping". This involves wandering aimlessly about the place at the slowest possible speed without a care or consideration for "purposeful purchasers". These are usually men who know what they want having done their research on-line and simply go along to IKEA to do the deal. I have been to IKEA twice - a reconnaisance which led me to discover it has good product but a lousy layout and purchasing experience and the second time to buy their brilliant Liared slats for under the bunk mattresses. Couldn't wait to get out.

From experience - enter Ikea via exit and checkouts, go to customer service station just inside warehousey bit, give them the number of the item, they give you a chitty, back through checkout and pay, then to pickup point for goods and out to freedom.

Were you jinking about between Gourock and Hunters quay? There were two saily boats and a gaff schooner when I was on the ferry at about 15.00 yesterday.
I spent Saturday night on the boat on the mooring because of the wind forecast (severe F9) but she rode it out just fine, although I didn't get much kip thanks to the wind and very heavy rain.
I woke to bright sunshine, mirror calm loch and everything right with the world. I slipped the mooring and went into the Kyles for a while and sailed back onto the mooring.
Even the dog's decision to go for an unplanned swim off the dinghy didn't spoil the day.
