Urgent help needed! After severely average August weather and an extremely normal September there have been reports of wide spread panic over lack of work at the Met office press centre.
Further NOAA after predicting 7-10 Hurricanes for 2007 is desperate that October and November will produce another 3 just so they can hit the lowest prediction. Whispering have been heard that this might just be a horribly average season! In fact all attempts have been made to redefine what tropical is, so that they can get the count higher.
Number of Hurricanes formed after 4rd October in previous years:
1999: 3
2000: 1
2001: 5
2002: 0
2003: 0
2004: 0
2005: 4
2006: 0
However nature in its dominant role has decided this year is spring cleaning year. She is finally fed up with all the scientific, tourist and political trips to the North pole, that has deposited so much black carbon, that she has melted the whole Ice cap as there is no way to remove the pollution otherwise. She has yet to evolve a parasitic ice boring worm that follows humans, eating the surface diesel soot and burnt particles. Interesting this has happened in a year of high CO2 levels and has severely melted the ice layer available to our descendants when they try to discover the reason behind early 21 century politics.
So all in all, this year so far has had a wonderful spring, a wet middle, due mainly to 2 unpredictable and belligerent frontal systems that decided to stop for a rest over central and northern England, then followed by a very average end of summer.
So with all this demonstrated lack of ability to even predict ice cream melting we have sailors predicting this is the last weekend of the year! I wonder if they might have been the ones with their boats on the land when our early spring came this year.
