Hi,

Thinking of buying a second-hand boat for weekends & holidays (cheaper than a holiday home) - so what would you recommend for comfortable(ish) living for two on the south coast? The one with the wallet wants something fast and sporty.

Thanks

hi newbie

Your brief is a bit too wide for detailed comment - cheaper than a holiday home could still be towards a million quid. The faster and sportier the more expensive and cramped. The newer the nicer and the more expensive. Even choosing something "suitable for the south coast" is variable: if you're mainly solent, then a small sportcruisier will be fine - but if the south coast means further west then you may need something a bit more rufty tufty (less sporty).

some questions so we might be able to help......

So how much do you want to spend?
Do you want to go fast or slow?
Do you want one level (sports cruiser) or two (fly bridge)?
Is it for the odd night or two nights or more?
Do you want space to accomodate friends?

Regards, Pete
