About waterproofing covers

I know I've seen a thread somewhere but can't find it. What do you use to help waterproof canvas covers? I know about Fabsil but isn't there something very much cheaper and just as effective? And will it do my old wax jacket?

5 litres of graingers proofread off amazon for £23 delivered ,can't really fault it at that price and good stuff .
