Took a half day off work on Friday and drove to Wales to prepare CI. Got all the work done and fittings & furnishings re-installed ready for Saturday.

Forecast:- Bright, sunny but northerly strong winds. No worries thought I. Northerlies are OK where I want to go.

Friday night - rain like you've never seen. Nay - Monsoon. And a monsoon with westerlies that rocked my static caravan and howled all night. So bad, I had to sit inside and drink red wine with a friend. This continued with rainy squalls all Saturday. I'm all dissappointed now /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifRight - I'm off to go drink some wine /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Next time I won't contradict Shipswoofy, who in all fairness did warn me. Must have better info that me /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yes, that was Weds 9th. The charts were starting to look bad.

5 Day charts

I am glad you were wrong as I did not go to the boat this weekend after my forecast, lots of work to do for the summer. As it is I am going to have to start tiling the bathroom tomorrow.

Tuesday looks promising /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Fun....

Try accuweather.com They give detailed forecasts out 15 days. I have been monitoring them and they have been accepably accurate.

Hi Dave, sorry to hear you didn't get out.

Our boat has been sat (happily, I am told) on its berth all winter. Been down a couple of times to check on her but not got out as it is either too windy or persisting it down.

She is coming out in 2 weeks for 10 days to have her antifouling done and be all washed and polished, however I won't be able to have a look until Easter, as have lots and lots on. Bit of a pain.

I would get yourself booked in for a lift sharpish though, as the hoist is getting very booked up with the rush to get back in for Easter - we were going to have ours lifted in and out two, as opposed to three weeks before Easter, but not a chance as it is fully booked for well over 10 days prior to the Holiday weekend.

By the way, have you had your boat on the more public hard next to the hoist/fuel pump, or in the "secure" compound which is actually not secure for 2/3 of each day?

Hi...Am I being stupid...who is Rob?

Glad to hear that, sounds much cheaper then the hoist - can you get hold of a 40ft version for me? (Trailer that is).

Hope you have more luck this coming weekend!
