towed the rib to our usual launch place yesterday and set off. Got 50 yards and overheat alarm went if on the 60 hp Mariner 2 stroke. Got back to the slip pulled it out and came home. Took out thermostat and tested and it had failed. New one in stock but 140 degrees and ideally I need 110 degrees (Now ordered)

pity as it was a lovely day.

I wonder how many others have had simple things spoil their boating day

a shorter list would be of stuff that had not broken or resulted in a trip back ashore a lot sooner than you would have liked !
Recent a trip to the Thames that would have lasted longer and been considerably less expensive had I read an instruction manual.

Did you not say on another thread , you don’t need to change impellers regularly
