Its to 'celebrate the end of WW1.
They said it started at 12.00
Its now a 2pm start apparently.
Meanwhile its started to rain the sky is dark gray.
Raining heavily.
All day.
A large yellow sign states no umbrellas.
That is upturned umbrellas for catching the thrown buns.
Health and Safety old chap.
Theres more military uniformed army personnel and hi viz vested African Security guards
milling around in the Market Square than a Chilean Junta and even less visitors.
Its not looking good.
Still a few dogs yap loudly as they await the thrown buns.
The rain gets heavier=torrential now.
Brrrrr.
Wot a wash out
PS Well eventually it got off the ground after much f ing about.
About 30 dignitaries and army blokes pelted the crowd with wet buns.
I was hit in the small of the back with one and it was quite a thump from 300'high I can tell you.
It even left a small bruise!
These aren't the genteel Lady Alderman of old dropping one off these are big beefy army guys
pelting the things.
I would think under these conditions an injury could be caused if it hit someone fair and square in the eye
of their upturned face,
Hence the ambulances standing by?
