Aaargh! Centaur 1" Oil Lubricated prop shaft seal wanted

If your stern tube is the right diameter (42mm) you could fit a water cooled rubber shaft seal, which will probably be less trouble than an oil lubricated one. See page 16 of this PDF. http://www.sillette.co.uk/price_pdf_files/sillette_marine_propulsion_catalogue.pdf Alternatively if the RMTA seal will fit so will the Volvo one, but the RMTA is cheaper and does not need burping. For a sailing boat you don't need to provide a forced water feed for the RMTA seal, just lead an open ended tube to a point well above the water line.

Is it the one with a little oil reserevoir feeding down to a spigot on the bronze seal? If so, then you wilkl be able to buy replacement lip seals at your local bearing shop for a couple of £ rather than replace the whole lot. Just make sure to transfer over the stainless springs in the lip seals - the new ones in stock are likely to have carbopn steel springs
