Having decided to take a year off from boating this year the list of jobs that have been on my mind to carry out seems quite long once it's written down. No doupt it'll get longer and if I don't do it soon it'll get even longer.
New prop shaft and refit flexi coupling.
Fill and sand any gelcoat repairs.
Re-seal windows
Repair or replace windscreen wiper motors
Modify the door into aft cabin.
Change helmseat from double to single seat
Replace heating system
Identify and replace if necessary any electrics
Fit inverter (thanks Roy, a very generous gift!)
Change navigators seat. (The reason for changing the seats is to make more room in saloon)
Re varnish woodwork
Fit new music system
Cut and polish.

We started a list when we first got ourboat. And soon discovered that no matter how hard we worked, the list always got longer.
So in the end we asked "is the boat sinking", which helped with a sort of triage.

Sounds like a good plan, will look forward to seeing your hard work when you return to E/C , hopefully we will all be back to some sort of normality by then, wil I give you a shout next time we are in pool

We all know "man maths" when we under estimate but that list must be "man projects" where you over estimate. :)
Good luck with that list

We had a long list of jobs to do in a mini-refit planned for the winter months. Lockdown has put paid to a lot of that, which is very frustrating so I suspect many weekends aboard will be doing jobs during the summer.

I've set myself the rule of only trying to make minor repairs and improvements whilst living/holidaying on board the boat this year. Aside from that, I'm planning to use her as much as I can and I already have people beavering away on her as we speak (e.g. new upholstery) so that we can get going as soon as possible.

Sensible. We are doing the same with our boat which we purchased August last year. The p/owners has neglected maintenance on some aspects of the boat which is 14 years old.
we got a fair bit done after we bought her, just the drive legs to service, new covers and a cut/polish for the reasonably big jobs. Going to upgrade to Lithuim batts, Victron charger/inverter in March to make the boat usable when away from shorepower.
want to use the boat as we work through the list of jobs.

What boat is she ??? Just trying get mental picture of what your doing
Sorry I wasn't sure if you were asking me or someone else :). Our boat is a 1989 Nimbus 3003, come August we'll have owned her for 3 years. She's not in bad nick, but there's a list of jobs and tweeks that I've been putting off and if I don't at least make a start this year we wouldn't enjoy her as much as we have been.
