It's cooler across the UK now, but it looks like we are going to be in for a brief blast of winter late Thursday and early Friday.

I compared you against that chap who makes the predictions where no one knows is method. So far both of you predicted snow around the same time. He was too early by a few days, you were spot on, he was wrong on the volume of snow, you have been accurate on the volume. Next check is around the 15th where he has predicted heavy snow again. He was also more vague on the area of the UK to be affected.

I'm not in the business of accuracy checks, my customers do that

The plan is to deliver a forecast AND an explanation. Sometime the forecast may outweigh the explanation and sometime the other way around.

What I am trying to do is expand on what you might see elsewhere and tell the narrative of the weather story. By watching progression of the models etc on a day to day basis I hope you can see more of the workings of the weather and how things can change, or stay the same!

Think the five inches of powder snow in my garden;balancing on my washing line since yesterday;the taxi that ditched over the side poised above Loch Nessbecause Transerve didnt clear the main road.
Its about minus 5 at moment.
So winter is well and truly here.

It was just out of interest because of a recent thread in the lounge on the chaps predictions. Normally I wouldn't bother.
