Yesterday the tide and the weather was good so Miniskip and I went out for tea

...........................................

on the Boat we had some spicy roast pork left from the day before so armed with sandwiches and libations off we went
we pottered up towards richmond
richbridgeMedium.jpg

The sky is Blue with vapour trails as we pass Richmnd bridge

before the bridge we pass the new river patrol PLA Boats
plaboatMedium.jpg

I cant say I like them but they dont make much wash btw the outboards are 35 hp DIESELS !!

we also passed this rather fine vessel

swanMedium.jpg

Something to do with swan upping ?? maybe

The white cross is busy with punters enjoying a pint in the warm evening sun

Just above Richmond bridge there are some rather lonely and neglected boats

derelect1Medium.jpg

If you look closely the kitchen roll in the window looks new so? perhaps someone lives there with the Pidgeons ?? !!

Next to it is another sad looking vessel

leftMedium.jpg

It is something I would be proud to own but she sits there year in and year out why own something as nice as this and never use it ?criminal

going through Richmond bridge a bunch of kayakers descend

kayakMedium.jpg

Apart from their lack of colreg knowledge they seem to be a good bunch which is not what can be said of the robo lot ( rant rant )

Coming up to eel pie island the Raggies are out

raggiesMedium.jpg

Not a bad bunch this lot either they did take care not to tack towards us

miniskip is at the helm ( when do I get a chance to take the helm ? )

mimiMedium.jpg

we slow to avoid any accidents as we approach the raggies

raggies1Medium.jpg

After which we go through the island to starboard passing the bridge

eelMedium-1.jpg

we pass robo hq known locally as stalag luft robogeheimstatz

ragMedium.jpg

Yep the Twickenham lot undeniably the rudest robos in the known universe

a rather nice wotsit

boathouseMedium.jpg

or two

Anyway thats it for now you will have to curb your suspense for the next part of this exiting tale untill later /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The third picture of the boat being rowed by the richmond bridge boathouses is (or was) owned by Mike Turk and was built for a movie about 'Enery the eighth. I can't remember the name of the film right now.

Nope, stopped using my bike when I kept falling in the river on the way home. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice photos! I wouldn't want it to get too public (and therefore don't know why I am posting this) but I know the owner of H2O and the pontoon the restaurant is on... can possibly arrange moorings but would need to be PMd in advance and they might be midstream.
