A transatlantic power cat arrives in Barbados

I saw a 'large' power cat anchored out in Carlisle Bay when I passed by yesterday, so I had a look on Marinetraffic when I got home to see if she had AIS - and she does.
Her name is Oceans 11, and she is a Sunreef 60.

She took just over 8 days for the passage from Mindelo in the Cabo Verde islands (approx 2,000 miles).

And on the Sunreef website - they mention a range of up to 3,000 miles on 12,000 litres fuel capacity, so approx 4 litres per mile which I suppose is pretty good going really for a twin engine yacht.

Although this is not quite as efficient as Balder's lovely 57' trawler yacht with a single John Deere where he is using 2.7 litres per mile at 7.5 knots, as per this thread, post #72, re trawler yachts -

Sorry to interfere in this thread, but Oceans 11 was "my neighbour" few weeks ago in Almerimar, near the Torre de Control with his super friendly crew ( polish and south african guys and the super relax mexican owner!). A lot of house music and sound system on deck ( I made a competition with them with my baroco classic music and my sound system!)

On the contrary Balder, thank you for 'interfering' with your news update re Oceans 11 - you have just shown (yet again) what a 'small world' this is re how the Oceans crew were your recent neighbours.
They are still anchored out in Carlisle Bay, hence I doubt that I will bump into them, as I haven't got a suitable dinghy at the moment to row out to go and say hi.
Did they tell you what their plans were? If they are taking the vessel 'home' to Mexico, then this could be on either the Caribbean or Pacific sides, so maybe they will enjoy a passage through the Panama canal as well.

The powering options mentioned on the Builder's website range from 2 x 370 hp to 2 x 800 hp, with fuel capacities ranging from 2 x 2,500 litres to 2 x 6,000 litres - the specification here

mentions that Oceans 11 has the 2 x 800 hp engines, with 12,000 litre fuel capacity - I doubt that there are many 60' monohulls with this power and range?
I must admit that I am not too keen on the reverse sheer or the '6-pack' set of windows in the topsides, but apart from these aspects she does seem to have a lot of positive things going for her, especially re the amount of room in the accommodation (although the double cabin in the starboard hull does look a bit cramped).

You are very very lucky to be anchored in Carlisle Bay. "Hoy", in Barcelona, where I have landed before be back to Paris, cloudy and cold.... And I do not talk about all the forumites celebrating Christmas in UK at this moment.http://www.ybw.com/forums/images/icons/icon11.png

I am not as well convinced by the six windows pack, but I must admit I am a little oldfashioned with my North Sea Trawler 57'...
I do not remember the kind of engines he had, he said that they added extra tanks.

He said he plan to head to St Bart depending how is the situation here after Irma;
