We ushaly manage to get to the Helford every other year, great place and some great photos.
Does the saling club still do good food, we were recomended it some years ago and had what was probably the best steak i have ever had.

Was there for Falmouth week last year and the food was OK. Might be better away from the regatta but I* guess that like toe RCYC it struggles to keep a good chef through the winter.

Been a bit mixed over the years. Greg Laskey was there a while back, now at the Ship Inn , Mawgan.

Nice photos, Dylan. Thanks for posting them. I had a mate John up there somewhere (Sunny Corner?), and whose wife did lovely paintings of the area. Auld lang syne now, though.

I guess they eat the mullet then? I have caught them on rod and line but never tackled one because of the mixed reports about the eating; or is it just the fish that feed on harbour/marina detritus that should be avoided?

You never see a Frenchman taking them - that always alarms me :eek:

Better than bass in my opinion.

it will never get crowded

too much mud, no showers, not enough pontoons

my remark was not aimed at you d,just those you may be tempting ! look harder you will find showers mud is good for practise groundings ;-) and stay much longer it may get a bit more crowded.enjoy but don't advertise ;-) may even sail over in next day or two to say hello.fair winds

Is the Port Navas yacht club now shut? I remember it getting great reviews for its catering quite a few years back.

I imagine it's not very pleasant in the lower reaches of the river today with these strong easterlies.
