A skipper went overboard in 4m waves and strong winds off the Point de Penmarc'h Finistère.

His crew members tried to throw him a buoy but they did not know how to manouvre the boat.

They called friends at home with their mobiles who then informed the coast guard.

The skipper was finally picked up about an hour after falling in but did not survive. And it's not even the winter.

A minimum briefing on the use of VHF.
