Journalism is a profession often compared to another very popular one, which Kipling would have called the oldest in the world. :p
And in a few cases when I happened to read articles related to facts on which I had some first hand experience, at risk of being banned PDQ, I must say that I always found some truth behind this cliché...
But now, I must give to Caesar what is Caesar's.

"Moteur Boat Magazine" published an article with the scores assigned to pleasure boats marinas by some 70 thousands of boaters.
These folks rated (through the app "Navily") the visited marinas, based on 5 different criterias (accueil, commerces, services, propreté, tourisme), giving to each of them a score from 1 to 5. The resulting average made a general score for each marina.
They published the results related to the top 33 French marinas, plus 9 in Spain and 7 in Italy.
A bit biased, you might think considering these numbers alone...
But, and it's a BIG but, the actual results are nothing short of amazing.

Now, before before spilling the beans, I would be curious to hear the consensus (if any) of this esteemed panel about the marina which 70k boaters ranked as the best, anywhere in FR, ES or IT. So, over to you folks, what's your take on this?

PS: anyone who read the article is kindly requested to resist the temptation to disclose its content! :)

Based on my own experience of FR and ES ( I have visited IT but not enough to make valid comment).

France

La Rochelle ( inner marinas not Minimes)
St Martin ( Ille De Rae off La Rochelle)
Antibes
St Jean De Luz ( Atlantic coast of France - border with spain)

Spain

Portals - Mallorca
Andraxt
Cala Dor

Shopping list I know but the best I can come up with. They are not bad as boat car parks go!

Looks like there’s no room for improvement on the Côte d’Azur:ambivalence:
Lots of ports all round me have done well. But I can’t help thinking that the results are skewed. Perhaps it’s just that this is motorboat territory and everywhere else is yachtie

Here is a link to the article in question. https://www.portdebeaulieu.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Moteur-Boat-Classement-ports-2018.pdf

As our marina (Beaulieu Sur Mer) came 2nd in France the port management where making a big deal of it.
Oi, I did ask to not disclose the results right away, didn't I? And you post a link to the whole article?!
Anyhow, it's interesting that the BSM management made a big deal of coming 2nd in F (and 3rd overall, though you can only notice if you "merge" the two tables), while at the marina who came as absolute 1st they weren't even aware of the article...! :D

Hmmm, that's quite a surprising winner. The old port is very nice & run by the same team that run our marina, the position is good but it's not very big and just seems to accommodate either 100' plus or very small peche promenade boats owned by locals. Assuming that Navily get their results from visiting yachtsmen, they can't have a big turnover, so slightly surprised.

I know and I’ve apologised. I missed his last bit. Once I saw my mistake I was going to pull my post, but he had then reposted it and so we would have ended up have to both delete posts and someone else would have clicked on the link in that time.

Sorry to ruined everyone’s day. I will read all posts in their entirety in future before making my own initial tentative post.

I wouldn’t worry Pete, it’s an advertorial! :ambivalence:
Well, if it is (and I'm not saying the contrary!), it can only be meant to sponsor the app which was used to collect the data, I guess.
Since the marina right at the top of the ranking didn't sponsor the article one bit, it's unrealistic to suppose that any others did.
And I'm not guessing now, 'cause I can be positive about the "since" bit - straight from the horse's mouth.
