A sad reflection on boatie humanity, see; sailing yacht for sale, Peters 36 lying Mallorca.
Short version (from the ad), "the boat damaged in the hurricane that swept through Mallorca in January. She dragged her mooring and ended up on her side in shallow water. (Sand bottom). Unfortunately, whilst little or no damage was sustained in the actual event, well meaning volunteers caused the damage she now has. The Mast was broken. Weight was applied to the top of the mast through the main halyard in an attempt to lift the keel. The bows were pulled towards the rocks in an attempt to free her causing damage to the starboard bow".
Unfortunately, the owner is tied up looking after his elderly father who needs palliative care.
That's not sad bit. It's this.
I don't know what the ethics are of voluntary intrusions & rescue efforts but what sort of scumbag rips off someone having suffered such a misfortune? It's worse than on a par with the crackheads making a living by stealing single wheels off locked up bicycles.
What disgusts & upsets me the most is that ... they are more than likely to be other boatie types. I mean, who thinks "Oh, look at that ... someone's just had the £25,000 love of their life wrecked. I'll have the EPIRB. They're going to do an insurance job, I'll have the liferaft too".
Are their crusty seagyspies pirating around the Islands, or is it resentful locals?
Someone's had a bargain. The vane alone is worth two or three times the asking price.

Really shame he didn't drop in somewhere like here where someone/s could have stepped in to help him.She WAS complete with all electrics chart plotter EPIRB life raft, dinghy outboard etc. But many of these items have been 'Removed'. I am led to understand that the easy to remove items have been taken.
She was previously listed to include these but as we can no longer be sure what is there I can not list them.
