A sad day for NW and Conwy.

The old fishing boat, grey lady, has burnt to ground.

Although she was an eyesore she was also a landmark for Conwy.

Shame really I bet she was lovely in her day, I just hope it wasn't arsen :(

The boat is described in the newspaper report as abandoned, which probably means that nobody is prepared to claim ownership or take responsibility for the 'remains'.
There seems to be blurred lines of law when it comes to these old pieces of flotsam and jetsam littering the waterways, as soon as it becomes all too hard..... just tie it off to a structure and walk away.

Our local maritime authority reports nearly one case a week of 'abandoned' vessels, imo a mentality like fly dumping!

There are stories that it wasn't an accident. She was never going to move again, so it is one way of moving her on.

She has been there for a long time easily getting on for 20 years.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to her now? If the owner has abandoned it and isn't in contact anymore who will foot the bill to remove the wreckage?

By I hope it's not arsen I ment I hope it wasn't local yobs having some fun.
