Hi all,

Finally found details of the new Zaffiro 29! I love it and it looks good value as well and will be about £120k inc Vat.

See details HERE

At SIBS I was very impressed with the Montecarlo 27, and with the single engine option it was a winner for me. However this new zaffiro sorts out the issues that the 32 has, namely a small seating area inside! I like it a lot!

With the credit crunch maybe the sensible suppliers are going back to making sub 30ft sportscruisers.....like they used to. Well Cranchi and Beneteau are doing anyway.

Cheers

However much is that bathing platform going to cost to park?!!!!
Looks high enough to be a diving board and isn't even integrated!

Looks nice and could definately be a possibility for me in the future - however, unlike the Sealines of that size, it doesn't have a seperate cabin? I know it's only a door but it still gives you that bit of privacy if people wer in the cabin and someone wanted to change etc...

I still reckon my next boat will be a HT, regardless of how nice soft tops look (with the top down obviously)

I dont like the look of it - some of the angles are just plain wrong, and that swim platform will mean you actually need to find and pay for a 10m+ berth rather than one around 9m.

Also, the open aft cabin is rubbish for families or if you want to go away as two couples.

Price seems ok with twin D3's mind, by the pricing on the PDF it should be just under £110k which is cetailny a lot less than the equivalent S29

I think it looks hideous, an ugly small sports type boat with a completely out of proportion bathing platform bolted on the back.

I am not entirely sure they have got a 'credit crunch' beating design there.

Is it a 26ft boat with a massive bathing platform fitted ?

Why would anyone want to pay £1500 a year to berth the bathing platform ?

Credit crunch design would have a folding mini bathing platform and be single engine petrol or at least single engine diesel ?

>cetainly a lot less than the equivalent S29

No such thing as an S29 any more. Out of production!
Only SC29's available as new build.

Interior design looks good. Raised sunbed opposite helm (to generate the headroom below) looks a bit precarious, and not somewhere I would to plant the 4-yr old. No seperate interior cabin would be a show-stopper for me, plus that bathing platform is huge and not contributing to the waterline length at all!

Looks like a Fairline Holiday from the 1990. Much easier to copy an old design than try something new!!!

I agree with everyone that the bathing platform (unless it can be retracted) kills it as a sensible proposition. Surely you lose too much space inside compared to a similer proportioned 29ft boat that doesn't have such a big platform? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Actually on the platform thing.....

They have a very thin transom, not racked as in some boats. Some boats use the transom as a locker and a similar size Four Winns/ Chaparral has a locker that is about 2ft deep. So if you discount about 18inch which is saved by not having the locker in the transom it starts to seem far more sensible. I for one, would prefer a larger platform that a locker. According to the dealer it is similar to a boat with a normal two foot platform, but the thinner transome allows it to be 3.5ft! At least they did not follow the Doral example which has a huge platform and locker which does add a lot to moooring charges.

I used to agree that a seperate cabin was what was required for the kids, but at under 32ft most rear cabins are the master so have a double. As a result my tastes have changed and in this case I prefer the open rear. According to a Spanish dealer who is premiering it at Barcelona the back sleeping area feels much bigger because of the open plan. He feels others will follow when they see how much extra space and 'perception of space' you get.

The actual hull length on this boat is only 24 ft. 6 in, of which 20 ft. 5 in is the waterline length.

That's really short for something claiming to be a 29 footer!

(waterline length on an S29 is more like 23ft)

A nice looking 30 footer

It has the looks of a modern sunfury.

I agree on this one!

while Cranchi may not be the most fashionable builder right now, I think this 29 Zaffiro as is the 33 Endurance are good new models
then you have the build quality of Cranchi which IMO is superior to much of the things around, even those costing higher
the bathing platform being from the med, I like tough IMO the design could have been a bit better, but whatever it makes tender stowage easy and better then being on davits
still the squarish stern is cool and diverse in an always more similar market
I think this 29 Perla gains points for the cockpit outside which on plans looks good and spacious and the big lateral windows for the cabin to fore, which are a fashion details to look

I previewed this and new Cranchi models about a week ago on the blog here
