Rarely seen in these parts , RCC had a visit today.
Crew spent a hour or two wandering up the pontoons with the occasional polite request for permission to come aboard for a natter and a bit of public relations with request to relay anything unusual noticed in our neck of the water to the authorities.
Told them that a club member has only got to tie his shoelaces differently for it to be all over the club grapevine in seconds.
The chap who came aboard did mention that he hoped my outboard was not usually left on display like that when not onboard.

Last time we encountered the rib was off of Sheerness a few months ago , they came across to see where we were off too, suspect more out of boredom than suspicion.

They were in Ramsgate last week, saw the boat moored up on the Hammerhead but nothing of the crew.

................got the impression from the conversation that the crew had other jobs with a rota to "man" the the rib ?
Actually their was "lady" on board during our little visit.

I got marooned on Burntwick with my sailing dinghy during a winter storm once. Some commercial boat reported my presence and this thing came to look me over. They didn’t seem to have a loud hailer, if I remember right they had machine guns instead, and I wasn’t inclined to use my radio, so we had a shouted conversation and they eventually left me alone. Complete waste of time.
I capsized on the way back, got caught on the lee shore, and had to do the walk of shame.
All good fun.
