Boat is finally going back in on morning tide.Took three weeks longer due to non appearance of outdrive ram.Got a couple of quotes as follows 358+vat and ten days delivery or 366+ and seven days(retail 450.00).Ooh may as well go for the cheapest.Whats a day or two.
Three very sunny weeks later and getting bit peed off so ring dealer with more expensive quote who then tells me he would have matched the cheaper quote.
By now fed up with waiting so also get express delivery from Antwerp (overnite) at 395.00+.
Moral of tale is that whatever price you are quoted by well known discount outlet all the other Volvo dealers I contacted were able to match that price if provoked.

Fred,

Good, glad you're getting some joy. Lets hope the weather holds for the rest of the season so you can catch up lost time.
Mines out on a two week package in the repair yard having the stbd shaft straightened and all bearings replaced. (no idea how it happened but it's got progressively worse over the last few months).
Trouble is the marine industry seems to be slower even than education, which I'm well used to. My two week package is undoubtedly going to overrun which will mean having to pay again to have her put back in.
Because they need working head room under the hull, the boat is set up unusually high, and you can imagine our suprise at having to climb a 20ft ladder to get aboard astern last weekend. Not recommended after visiting the yacht club first before going to the boat. SWMBO definetely did not approve!!.
Anyway we're staying on a freinds boat this weekend while he is on a delivery trip to Southern Spain with a Princess 61 (as long as I fix his radar while I'm there that is).

On a different subject, I notice from your bio that you're a ham. Are you active on HF?. PM me if you are.

There seems to be nothing more frustrating than having a boat that you cant use..apart from maybe a car that you cant use.

Right, Im off to Chelsea to find Ronan O'Rahilly to get him to sprinkle some of his magic on me Pirate Fuel Ship project. tee hee.

Cheers

Steve.
