A raid at Mersea

A large yacht flying a Dutch flag came up the Blackwater this lunchtime, and was boarded by men in black, I think it was the Police or Border control. As the yacht approached the quarters several of the men in black got off the Dutch yacht. The Dutch yacht then picked up a mooring in the lower end of the Thornfleet, whilst the men in black went alongside another yacht that had recently come in. Later the Dutch yacht and the men in black went up the Thornfleet out of sight. I have not seen the men in black coming out of Mersea moorings.

Does anybody know anything about this?

I would have thought that "the men in black" came from a mother ship nearby

No mother ship, I can see right down the Blackwater from my house, and certainly no mother ship above Mersea

On AIS there are three Dutch yachts in the Quarters/Thornfleet and two Belgies. Three more Cloggies coming up the Blackwater and one nearer Osea. The invasion has started

The Border Force recently took delivery of a new patrol ship with stealth technology built into the design so it's no surprise you can't see it.

From personal experience I can confirm that the Border Force patrol vessels may turn off their AIS transmitter when on operations

Met one fannying around between Southwold and the Deben the other year - he went up and down the coast at a rate of knots passing us three times (down, up, and then down again). Passed within two miles, nothing showing on the AIS receiver

Encountered their RIB full indeed of Men in Black a couple of miles upstream of Felixstowe Ferry. They gave us a cheery wave as they blatted downstream at warp factor nine (speed limit? What speed limit? :/ )

MiB and intercepting incoming yachts from furrin parts almost certainly means Border Force either acting on intelligence or just making a nuisance, so to speak, of themselves

The Dutch Yacht has just left and is now going up the Blackwater, so no drugs or immigrants
