We are afloat!! And it feels wonderful.
Spending the weekend in Burnham. Curry on Saturday night, breakfast at Cabin Diary yesterday followed by supper at the Thai.

Now, this the really good bit. We owe it all to my old racing skipper. He is the one with an bad case of PNM and leant me the use of his boat because Toma is ashore. There is a long story and will be revealed at the fitting up supper.

To stand on someting that moves as you walk about is a whole different feeling to the predictable hard ground and soo good.

West Mersea YC had our shakedown cruise at the weekend to same destination. For those out early, a nice sail towards the Spitway, but generally a motor... Observation on Spitway is it seems much flatter than previous years, the sharp rise from the South/East to a quick peak, followed by the slow drop to the Wallet seems to have become longer, but slightly deeper. We generally saw about 2.5m depth of water except for a couple of spots briefly down to 2.3 traversing slowly from just after LW yesterday a.m.
Lovely meal for 28 of us in the Swallowtail, a couple up to the Ferry Boat SUnday to sit in the sheltered sunny garden and a lovely sail back yesterday... All is good in the world
