Could I suggest a Pre-season get together at Mr & Mrs Sixpence's new Pub.

I have had a chat with them and they would be very happy to see us all one Saturday.
How about 19th Febuary.
They would lay on a meal and there is the possablility of sleep over accomodation.

we're a bit flakey too. We are up for the idea, but will be last minute yay or nay depending on many variables (including HWMO work patterns, child access, etc - we haven't planned that far ahead yet due to too many things changing on a day to day basis!).

Clive I'm still recovering from the Last Five Bells do :) I'll check what's on and get back to this thread

Good to see you last Friday Clive, even better to hear you enjoyed your meal. Obviously more than happy to cater for this, though closer to the date it would be handy to have a final count for those confirming. Might make it easier to pre-book from the menu at the time too, but we'll see how it goes
Planning permission for the next phase has now been granted, apparently. Builders arrive on Monday to start work. More notice would have been nice but whatever :D

On a seperate note, on a previous pre season meet there was a radio control boat race, that didn't quite go to plan :o

If any are interested I can increase the water level in the stream outside and we could maybe try again ?

Sorry folk
I am going to have to duck out of this one as I have been instructed that I have to accompany No. 2 daughter to London on that day.

I too am very sorry to say that this isnt going to happen for us either. Children's weekend activities have taken over everything else in sight. Have a great time tho and Dave, we will be up soon ..........

Blimey, the 19th is almost upon us. We're planning to go to the boat at Shotley this weekend, couple of jobs on Saturday and maybe a trip out Sunday.

If we get done with the jobs at a reasonable time Saturday, we might be able to make this one. What's the current state of play, with regards to who's going and if we'd need to book ?

Might be nicer to attend a smaller gathering for our first meeting with fellow forumites, as we're very shy :)

Been a tad busy here so only just found time to get back to this folks, sorry :o
Shame Clive and Alan can't make it, I know Clive was looking forward to a full steak rather than a light bite lunch, so we'll no doubt see all sooner or later

Latest developments here mean we only need advance bookings for large groups, the flame grill cooks everything that little bit nicer, and we can manage more in one go. So that makes it simpler for us to cater for all that do make it. Another development is the plans for oysters are now in full flow, and they are going down rather well here. Though Valentines night could be to blame there :D

Hope some more can still make it, and in case I don't get a chance to post between now and Saturday, I'll try and stick my nose in to see who's coming. Never met an East Coast forumite I haven't liked yet Paul, so big or small meetings are worth going to anyway. Hope to meet soon

We have now been booked to be elsewhere on Saturday but may pop over for a bite to eat tomorrow night instead - assuming there is space.
Been promising ourselves to go back ever since the famous Men In Spex/Blue Bark November the Fifth special.
