That's very poor quality, thin water. You can see straight through it.
Our East coast stuff has much more goodness in it.

Is a CQR better than a Rocna then?

Not sure, never having used a ronca.

BUT the CQR was a real bvgger to get up.
It had ploughed really deep into the sand.
There is no winch on KATE, just muscle power.
There is no engine on KATE.
In the end, we had to sail it out.
We were on a lee shore with a LARGE block of concrete about 50'0" behind us and covered with 6'0" of water. Only discovered that after we anchored.
The water was 9'0"- 1'0" and KATE's draft is 7'6".
Managed to shorten the rode by three of us straining away.
Then we joisted and backed the jib, and when she started heading seaward she pulled the anchor out. When we got some sea room we luffed up and hauled the anchor aboard.

It is not all fun and games out here. :D

East coast ... the only place where there is so much mud "etc" suspended in the water that it does not matter if the anchor does not go right to the bottom! :D

I like the boarding ladder. I like the boat actually, why spoil it with a motor?

Many many years ago an old chum was part of the regular crew on a 12metre called Evaine that was sailed out of Jersey engineless, Scandinavia, New York etc. When needs must they strapped an inflatable rib alongside with outboard. Way cool!

KATE is a 12 metre, and we do that with Kate should the need arise.
