A New Noise - Well New To Me‼️

Recently on a number of visits to the Naze I have been hearing an intermittent 1 Kc 1 second bleep every minute. It comes and goes both at night and during the day but is not associated with poor visability.

It appears to emanate from The Principality of Sealand (HM Rough Towers) or the nearby wind farm.

Is it a warning to shipping and do all seabased wind farms have a audio warning facility?

As yet we do not have offshore wind farms in the Western Algarve.

There is certainly an electronic sound signal coming up through Fisherman's Gat, on the edge of that wind farm, where it runs along the channel. Not noticed any when skirting the more offshore farms, on passage to and from the Netherlands. But usually try to stay a mile or so off.....
Come to think of it, I have been known to shave the wind farms off Whitstable and Brighton more closely (inshore side in both cases) and not heard any sound signals on those - so don’t appear to be universal.

It could be an alien space ship under roughs tower transmitting a signal to distant planets getting ready to take over the earth. After all, who knows what goes on at "the tower"

I take it that is a 1KHz beep?
A one second long high-pitched beep once a minute is no known maritime signal, is it?

Perhaps it's the Whiting bank reversing, very slowly...?
