"Can I help you"
"I've come to hand in some out of date flares"
"Sorry but our flare locker is full"
"But I've just driven 70 miles to bring them"
"Let's see if we can squeeze them in then"
"Thanks"
"Tell your friends to ring before they come as we are waiting for an MoD collection and haven't got room"

Locker is the size of a garden coal bunker. MCA were very polite and friendly and exasperated that this ridiculous position exists.

Still we killed too birds and took M-I-L for a trip out. The view from here was great (photos from phone as I forgot proper camera)

Git. I phoned you when you were there, larging it on the national pension purse.

You forgot to mention taking MIL for a cheese toastie in Walton On the Naze, which might have been a redeeming act.

I'll have you know young lad that I am not yet a drain on the National Purse - a couple of years to go. And I did mention M-I-L above - a toastie at Walton followed by tea and cake at the Beth Chatto Gardens. I am redeemed!

Blimey You are brave taking senior management to Beth Chattos. Our last visit there was the reason Gordon had to organise that "Quantative Easing" thing.

The car looked like a mobile Kew Gardens !

The tower bears the inscription "Trinity House 1720"

At some point it had a light on it. During WW2 they put a radar scanner on the top. Now has a cafe and art displays on the various floors. It was only opened to the public in 2006. It was surrounded by a golf course until 1938. The cliff is falling away alarmingly - not erosion but landslip caused by the various soil strata on top of a seam of clay - when it gets very wet a bit more gives way.

Shouldn't you be off antifouling or something rather than wasting all your time on here?..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's why some of us aren't here as often as usual /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll have you know that I did it myself last week and the boat is back in /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Who called me a 'little man'? Come outside and say that to my face - I'll be wearing glasses so you won't hit me /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
