Oh joy.
I finally got the sails on and went out yesterday.
Nothing serious, just a potter from Lymington down to Cowes. And how wonderful it was. A gentle little F3 to 4, blue skies and only a handful of other yachts around.
BUT THEN SHOCK, HORROR........
just as I was thinking life doesn't get better than this, I suddenly found myself surrounded by danger!!
During the winter, it seems the whole of the north shore from Beauliea Spit westward has erupted in a rash of black oil cans! There must have been 20 or 30 before I emerged, unscathed, at the start of the Lymington mud flats.
As Associated British Ports don't seem to be doing anything, how about a few Scuttlebutters, a rib and some sharp knives solving the problem?
Only joking......... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's Black Can Man and he has spread these out from Hurst to Christchurch Ledge too. We had such great fun dodging these beating upwind in a stroppy F6 wind over tide the other week. Personally I believe this one needs to be caught and strung up by his pots as an example to them all. Someone surely knows who he is, there are so many cans it cannot go unseen?
