I know it’s random , but I am having a hip replacement next week on Tuesday , I am hoping to get to the boat by the weekend . Has anyone had one and do you think it’s to soon. I knackered it by bump starting Brucek boat in the welch med.

A pal had a replacement hip a few weeks ago. Day Case and a choice if he wanted to be fully awake or asleep while they hacked his leg about.

Playing golf three days later. I why anybody would spoil a good walk by playing golf.

If you do well/are lucky as I was, you might well be up to it after ten days, provided the weather is light and you aren't planning on going too far

Hi not thinking of going out , it’s Torbay air show so just up on the fly with the camera. The wife has orgernised a Red Arrows fly bye for me . !,

I had a replacement in January. I got a flight from Istanbul to Izmir 3 days after the op with an hour in a car either end. I had wheelchair assistance at both airports. I managed the stairs at home on arrival. I definitely wouldn't have considered a trip to the boat yo take photos.

I just had knee surgery to reconstruct ACL, etc. following an accident skiing in March. They had me up and walking the day after the operation and encourage moving around as much as possible. Flat surfaces are no problem, but uneven surfaces and stairs are more of a challenge. I would be concerned about getting safely on and off the boat and wouldn’t even attempt flybridge steps for a while.

You want to avoid sudden movement and rotational forces. Dont go afloat mate

You boat is likely still ashore so it’ll be fine

I know someone whose leg was 1.5inches shorter after 2nd leg op.

Errrk, I could never have been a surgeon.
I would have required medical attention after fainting during my first attempt at an operation.
