Enjoyed a great sail today with a gentle breeze until the tide turned then, with a big black cloud over head the wind came in and the tide turned and I quickly had SW 25 knts tru all the way back to Barry. However, the channel is full of tree trunks some very large. In the area around the Holms I counted over 12 logs and large sections of trees. Only one traffic cone.

We were out the holms sunday and came across a lot of tree trunks and branches.

If they're still there today I guess they've taken root. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup, loads of tree sections and general rubbish floating about on Sunday, had to be quite careful coming back in. Worst one was what looked like a blue fender, turned out to be an empty gas bottle floating past Sully Island. That would've done some damage.

Anyone seen the dredger yet ? I noticed the port hand cans sat up on the mud on Sunday well away from the channel, haven't seen the dredger yet though

The dredger was in and out quite a lot on sunday, she seemed to reverse into the outer harbour of the barrage stay about 5 mins and then zoom off to mid channel,"Sospan"is her name.i know this because we had a nice drift around looking for some wind about a mile out from Penarth.
chris.
