TOMORROW

SWMBO and I make the transition form those who " are planning the great escape from bricks and mortar."

AND BECOME

one of " those who live on their sail or motor boats",

We fly out to join our boat in Marbella and after 2 weeks completing the refit will be on our way.

NOW would be a good time to thank all those on this forum who have helped us on our way with encouragement and advice over the last year when we first decided to liveaboard.

Providing my newly ordered Repeatit antenna (another bit of good advice) arrives in time I should be able to check in and see what's being discussed in a few days time.

Thank you all /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Wishing you all the best on your escape from bricks and mortar - have been following your posts/associated posts with interest since it's our plan too! Look forward to reading more about your "travels". Hope we can carry on learning more from your and others' messages - great forum.

We like the look of the Robertson & Caine "Leopard" catamaran as a liveaboard/possible charter yacht. Would be interested to hear any comments from anyone with any experience/knowledge of any quirks - upsides - downsides.

Am sooo jealous as we are still in the very early stages of planning and have a few years saving up still to do!

Very best of luck, would love to know how things are going so it will be great if you manage to post on here occasionally

Leopards look nice boats and sail well in calm weather, but they have limited bridge deck clearance, which becomes a problem in bad weather with slammng.

The Leopard Cats are great liveaboard boats , but because of the low and flat underside bridge deck will slap in only moderate seas. But using modern weather forecasting tech and patience as a liveaboard you are in no rush to get anywhere so can stay on your very comfy boat until all the gods of weather breathe in the same direction. We left UK 5 years ago on a 2 year trip......forgot to return!
Happy cruising!
(Just remember you will live on your boat 365/24 but only sail any sort of distance occasionally). /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
