Welcome,

this is a great site; i have been using it for the last 10 years under various names. I have a good knowledge of boats and sailing performance, however, electrics is my weakness.

good tip for anyone new to boating - join a club. outside the Solent, yacht clubs arent in the main "stuck up" and you will find lots of advice readily given by members. its a good way to find sensibly priced moorings. and it adds interest to the activity.

boaters are friendly.

I think "join a club outside the Solent" is very good advice to someone who gives their location as Glasgow... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

yip i have applied for a few clubs, and captain fantastic any electrical help you need let me know ive also done a good bit of electronic repairs in a previous job so if i can help others as they have helped me it shows how much i apprecite it.

Welcome to you all, from an 'old salt', well I have a lot of posts, thats all I can prove! Sad isnt it? I reckon if I put as much effort into work during the course of a working day as I do the forum, I could easily get a bigger boat, Oh well its all good fun!

btw, also, as a new Fjord owner this year, I think she is a no frills bt v.solid boat; welcome, and looking 4ward to swapping any design notes...
