A mate of mine is thinking of going over to the darkside. New wife is less gritty than previous model.

He's sold the raggie machine and is looking to spend around £80k for something noisy.

I'd guess he wouldn't want something terribly tear arse but I know he doesn't want some old barge either. Boat to be west country based for a bit of channel work. Berths for 4/5 should do it.

Any suggestions?? What's giving good value at the moment??

the raggiest newish powerboat is a Botnia Targa, a range about erm 29-39 feet ish. This has very deep-vee, indoor/outdoor driving option, good for western channel in some comfort. Not sure if you will get one for £80k tho. Goes like stink.

Stand corrected why don't you - range starts at 23, which is actually 24ft then 25 which is actually 26ft etc etc. The 27 will sleep 4 but you have to be on very good terms with each other, accom. is open plan sleeping head to head. Healthy heads compartment is "outdoors" - actually quite a good idea unless you are elderly. Need to get above 27 version in order to get "cabins" for 4 and an inside bog. I don't think you'll find even an older one of these for £80k though. Wish I could afford one ........mumble mumble /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

No, when they do come up for sale they, (Wessex Marine), seem to have a buyer already in tow. Our boat never actually "came on the market" before we bought it. Presumably this is good for resale values but obviously you pay a premium when you buy it to start with, so no one benefits - apart from the dealer. Ahhhh, where have I heard that before /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

hm, is that cos the boats are so flippin ugly you only show aeriel shots on your website? Or is it cos the interior upholstery and trim made to the same luxurious standards as a london bus? Or are they just ded slow and drive along with a 5 degree list?

I thought london bus interiors were built to last and pretty solid. Guess you know more than me and can only afford to travel by bus. Not true about the aerial shots mate - neither are they slow! Shameless plug - yes i freely admit to that.
