While watching "the Perfect Storm" on the box we reached for our big Times Atlas to see where were Flemish Cap and the various plots they mentioned. Disappointment: it hardly covers the Atlantic at all!
At this time of the year Father Christmas is listening for hints - at least I hope he is. I wouldn't mind an atlas with decent coverage of seas and oceans.
Does anyone know of such?

I have the same atlas 11th edition. It cost a packet even at a used book store.
Ocean details not great. though it does have the single track road and small village my family is from.

Flemish Cap appears on Plate 123 3rd last before the index. approximately 46n 44w.

I don't know a good marine Atlas.
I do have and old copy of the admiralty chart catalogue. it’s a sort of marine atlas or at least a chart atlas though not much detail.
I also have an ancient copy of an ocean routing atlas rather dog eared and unfortunately stored away in unknown box in the basement. Which would have it some where.
I like to dig about in old used book stores and find things like this.
Ocean routes.
Mariners handbook.

In North America there is a company “Evergreen” who produce cruising atlas’s which of course are not to be used for navigation but I find quite handy I have the west coast ones. And may pick up the east coast ones if I ever go there.
I rather like the Maptec Atlas’s I find them even better but they only cover American water’s

I should be on the lookout for some coverage of the UK and Europe.

I would be interested to know if Imrie produce such a thing.

ok, so this is mainly covering the atlantic, but it has been on my wish-list for a while ...

:o

I've got one of those, but it's a collection of pilot charts and it wouldn't have helped the OP with finding the Flemish Cap (speaking from memory now). If it's wind and currents you're interested in, it's a first class book.

The same information is available here: http://www.offshoreblue.com/navigation/pilot-charts.php
