Hi All,
I'm sure I am not the first to put antifouling paint over the top of 'normal' gloss, only to find that the AF paint reacts (badly) with the previously applied paint and it all goes crinkly! I guess that you would say strip off and start again, but are there any other options?
Is there an Anti fouling paint that is compatible with oil based enamels? or
Is there a barrier paint that will keep the two apart?
All suggestions gratefully received! The boat is an 18ft double ender which is coming towards the end of a 6 month rebuild. The AF is 'Nautical' general purpose antifouling and the rest of the finish is 'normal' primer(s) /undercoat(s) / gloss(es!)
Incidentally I notice that its only lifted the gloss coat, reprime & undercoat maybe?
Hoping to catch some time in the water before the summers end.
regards,
Stu Knowles
